Prairie Home faced Chamois Thursday night in the semifinal round of the Class 1 District 9 Boys Basketball Tournament at St. Elizabeth, where the #4 seeded Panthers lost 58-29 to the top-seeded Pirates.
Chamois outscored Prairie Home 18-6 and 21-6 in the first half and 12-11 and 7-6 in the second half to pocket the win.
"We faced a very tough top seed in Chamois and they really stuck it to us right out of the gate," Panther Coach Jesse Oswald said. "This is probably the best team we have faced all year and they forced us into making some mistakes early on offense and really got us out of position on defense, which allowed them to build a big lead. We picked it up a little in the second half, but we only played even with them, which wasn't going to get the job done."
