The California High School track team hosted a meet Tuesday, April 24, where both the Pintos and Lady Pintos finished the seven-team event in second place.

Eldon won the girls' division with 155, followed by California with 112.5 and Russellville in third place with 110.

Eldon also won the boys' division with 206, followed by California with 142 and North Callaway in third place with 101. Russellville finished in sixth place with 48.

"I was very pleased with the efforts of our girls' team," California Coach Rick Edwards said. "In the past few weeks they have made great strides. It's two-fold; first, we are improving in our performances across the board, and secondly we have Sydney Deeken back, who scores a lot of points for us. Our boys performed well also. We're getting some kids back from injuries and we've made a few additions to events which are helping us cut times."
