The Russellville High School baseball teams were on fire last week as the Indians pocketed a slew of wins, losing to just one opponent, in a total of nine games.

The Indians started out on the road April 23, where both the varsity and JV defeated the Dixon Bulldogs.

Russellville's varsity won 9-5. Chandler Wolf recorded the win with 11 strikeouts.

"We continue to get better and we really did a nice job of defense," Russellville Coach Lucas Branson said. "Chandler was not as good as he would like to have been on the mound, but he battled after a couple of long, early innings and settled down mid-game. Offensively, we had 12 hits and got contributions from everyone in the lineup."
