California tracksters shine at conference and district meets

The California High School varsity track team competed at the Tri-County Conference track meet Tuesday, May 1, hosted by Blair Oaks, Wardsville, where the Pintos and Lady Pintos finished in third place.

In the boys' division, Osage finished in first place, followed by Eldon, California, Blair Oaks, Versailles and Warsaw.

In the girls' division, Blair Oaks won, followed by Eldon, California, Osage, Versailles and Warsaw.

California athletes who earned All-Conference honors for finishing in the top three of their event include the following: Phillip Longan, High Jump; Walker Borghardt, Triple Jump, 100 Meter and 200 Meter; Garret Baquet, Triple Jump and 4x400 Meter Relay; Luke Burger, Pole Vault; Anthony Price, 400 Meter, 200 Meter and 4x400 Meter Relay; Nathan Thibon, 800 Meter and 4x400 Meter Relay; Justin Mitchell, 800 Meter; Logan Rowles, 4x400 Meter Relay; Sydney Deeken, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump and 200 Meter; Liz Kirby, 1600 Meter and 3200 Meter; and Libby Martin, 400 Meter.
