Emergency Dispatch Board meets

At the meeting of the Moniteau County Emergency Dispatch Board June 12, Executive Director Kevin Wieberg discussed his training and quality improvement plan with the board. He is working on a spreadsheet to help with call reviews. He discussed the concerns about whether it will work out, and presented a quote for assessment software which will work with the system in use.

The board approved the purchase and activation of the software for $3,186.97 with a unanimous vote. Wieberg is of the opinion that this will be of benefit for the law enforcement and fire calls. Medical calls already are assessed with different software.

Wieberg explained the promotional process for supervisor. There were four candidates and all were reported to have been exceptional. Adam Schreck was promoted.

The treasurer's report indicated sales tax received was $87,137.21. Current balance of the MMDA account balance is $523,346.24. The CD's balance was $236,144.34. Accounts payable was $31,307.56 June 11.

Calls for service for the month of May: law enforcement - 2,165; fire 112; and ambulance 106. Law enforcement calls were: California Police Department - 49 percent; Moniteau County Sheriff's Department - 38 percent; Tipton Police Department - 12 percent; and Jamestown Police - 1 percent. Fire calls came from the California City Fire Department and five rural fire departments.

The next meeting is at 6 p.m. July 12.
