Class of 1961 donates memorial bench

A new granite bench was placed near the entrance to California High School auditorium on the south side of the school facility on Wednesday, May 16. The gift was arranged by the Class of 1961 and placed to best serve those attending performances and other stage events.

The bench is engraved "Class of 1961."

This is the second granite bench given to the school by the Class of '61. The first was placed on May 18, 2011, under the arch at the Owen Street campus between the current middle and elementary school facilities.

The first bench is engraved with the image of the school as the Class of 1961 remembers it.
