Irma Steiner Cook, 91, of California, Mo., passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012, at her residence.

She was born on August 16, 1921, on a farm north of California, Mo., the daughter of Charles J. and Flora (Rohrbach) Steiner, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on February 22, 1942, in Clarksburg, Mo., to Lawrence Paul Cook, who preceded her in death on December 21, 2009.

She graduated from Oak Grove School in 1935, California High School in 1939, and Huff Business College, Kansas City, in 1940. Irma worked as a secretary-office manager for 20 plus years at a Jefferson City law firm, where she retired in 1983. She was a lifelong member of the California United Church of Christ. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for 71 years, the Worthy Matron of California Chapter No. 521 in 1962, 1983, and 1985, and District Deputy Grand Matron in 1983. Irma was also a charter member and president of the Inspiration Extension Club, president of the County Extension Homemakers' Council, and secretary of the Moniteau County Extension Council. She was the president of the California Parent-Teacher Association and president of the McGirk W.P.F.A. She was a member of the Legislative Wives' Club during the Dalton Administration.

She is survived by two sons, Lawrence II and wife Charlene Cook of California, and John and wife Bekki Cook of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Private family graveside services were held on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Old Lebanon Cemetery near McGirk. Officiating was Rev. L.P. Cook III. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at the California United Church of Christ sanctuary.

Robert D. Dahlstein, 76, California, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Tipton Oak Manor.

He was born Feb. 5, 1936 in Jefferson City, to Henry and Elizabeth Dahlstein. He was married July 7, 1961, Tipton, to Lena Marie Lademann, who preceded him in death on November 2009.

Survived include: one daughter, Lisa Kinworthy, Fenton; two brothers, Bill and Richard Dahlstein; two sisters, Ann Freed and Emma O'Bryant; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
