The California High School softball teams played at Eldon Tuesday, Aug. 28, where both suffered a loss to the Lady Mustangs.
The varsity lost 16-7.
Alayna York and Madelyn Jobe led California hits with two each.
"We had some good offense going against Eldon," California Coach Jack Lake said. "We just had a tough time on defense."
California's JV lost 12-0 to Eldon.
California's varsity traveled to Tipton Thursday, where the Lady Pintos lost 11-0 in five innings.
York led California hits with two, while Tiffany Carel and Jamie Earnheart each contributed one hit.
"Our defense looked a lot better against Tipton," Lake said. "They were just hitting the ball in the gaps. Even though we didn't produce any runs, we did have some good hits against a great pitcher."
Lake added, "The girls have made some adjustments that I feel will help us in future games."
The Lady Pintos will play at Versailles at 5 p.m. Thursday.
