RUSSELLVILLE - Horticulture and agriculture classes at Cole County R-I High School will help the elementary preschool class set up an edible garden this spring.
The Cole County R-I Elementary H.U.G. (Helping Us Grow) Preschool Program recently received one of two $500 WeCan Garden Grants through the Cole County Health Department, to support nutrition education and physical activity.
Raised beds will be assembled and filled in the school's future courtyard this spring. Then, the preschool class will plant, tend, harvest and eat produce from the garden.
