William Inglish, California, received the second-place Missouri FFA Beef Production Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award at the 85th Missouri FFA Convention.

Inglish, a graduate of California R-I High School, is the son Michael and Patricia Inglish. His chapter advisors are Lee Longan and Adam Bieri.

Inglish's supervised agricultural experience program began with the gift of a heifer from his grandfather. His herd continues to grow every year and currently consists of 36 head of black commercial cows and calves. He also purchased equipment to bale his own hay to feed his livestock. His responsibilities include marketing, showing, financial management, feeding, baling and recordkeeping.

Inglish has attended state and national FFA conventions. He has held office as Area 8 reporter and vice president, as well as chapter president. He has competed in the farm management and extemporaneous speaking career development events. Outside of FFA, Inglish is involved in his church youth group, National Honor Society and Show-Me 4-H Club.

Inglish is studying agribusiness management at the University of Missouri and plans to make production agriculture a part of his future.

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Beef production Entrepreneurship is one of 49 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. Missouri Cattlemen's Association sponsors this award.
