Felony drug charge filed

A felony drug related charge was filed in Moniteau County Court on July 27.

Corey James Coffelt, 17, no address given, has been charged with Class C Felony Possession of Controlled Substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana.

According to court documents, an officer stopped a pickup on Buchanan Street for failure to stay on the right side of the road on July 26.

In addition to other items, officers are alleged to have found a light bulb used as a meth pipe in a hoodie which was in his vehicle. The preliminary field test on the pipe showed positive for methamphetamine.

If convicted on this charge, the defendant could face up to seven years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Bond has been set at $10,000.
