The deadline to register to participate in the City of California Parks and Recreation Youth Co-ed Soccer League for grades K-8 (for the 2013-14 school year) is Friday, Aug. 23. Forms are available at City Hall, located at 500 S. Oak St., 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Checks must be made payable to: City of California Parks and Recreation. Forms can be turned in at City Hall or mailed to City Hall. There is also a City Hall Utilities Drop Box available for after hours.
The cost to participate is $30 per child. The schedule will consist of six games beginning Sunday, Sept. 22, at the soccer field at the California Sports Complex.
A mandatory coaches meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at City Hall.
League Coordinator Adam Lockard said there is a need for volunteer soccer coaches. Those interested can contact Locard at 573-796-2500 or email@example.com. There is also a need for soccer referees. Those interested in applying can pick up an application at City Hall.
"We're also looking for umpires for the adult softball league," Lockard said. "Experience isn't necessarily needed."
