CPI changes regular meeting time

After discussion of a generally acceptable meeting time, the Board of Directors of California Progress, Inc. (CPI), decided to set meetings at noon on the third Thursday of each month. The new meeting time will begin Jan. 13, at the library.

Although the change to a noon meeting does not meet the needs of everyone, it appears to be easier for the majority of the board.

The board continued the discussion concerning the generally accepted need for a community building. Several members of the CPI board have visited a couple of facilities which could be considered for the purpose of a community building, but if the Fair Board decides to take the lead on such a project, the CPI board plans to lend support.

The board also approved payment of regular December bills, including insurance for the Finke Theatre. Although the Finke is still owned by CPI, all operations are controlled by the Friends of the Finke. Most maintenance is also the responsibility of the Friends.

The "Wine, Dine and Win" fundraiser was discussed. The event is set for April 12 from 6 to 11 p.m.

Other than the annual dinner meeting, no December CPI meeting is planned.
