Thanksgiving dinner at nutrition center

Dinner was served at the California Nutrition Center on Thanksgiving Day, as has been for several years. A number of people of all ages volunteered to serve the guests at the event which is sponsored by the California Ministerial Alliance.

According to Jeremy Caudel, pastor of Total Worship Center on Oak Street in California, the Thanksgiving Day meal was served to a constant stream of people starting at 11 a.m. and going up to 1 p.m. For those unable to come to the location, carry-out meals were available.

Those who dined at the center included residents of Bristol Manor, Deerbrook II, and Senior Housing.

The meat was Cargill-donated turkey and Burgers' Smokehouse-donated ham and local churches provided the dressing, potatoes and gravy, corn, green beans, sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce which was cooked at the center by Teresa Liebi.

A dessert table filled with homemade pies provided a sweet end to the meal.

It was estimated that about 150 were served, although no count was taken.
