Finke Theatre prepares for new season

The Historic Finke Theatre is preparing for the 2013-2014 season with a fully loaded schedule sure to please. In addition to regular scheduled performances, there will be extras this year starting off with Broadway on the Driveway featuring the St. Louis Swing on Aug. 24. Regular season starts on Sept. 14 with Sting Ray Anthony. In October the St. Louis Irish Arts will be featured followed in November by Ivory and Gold. On Dec. 7 the Christmas Variety Show will be held. The new year will begin with The Krazy Kats on Jan. 18. February will bring Harmonium Brass and in March Lucky Old Sons is scheduled. Kelly Smith will perform on April 19 as Cher and Shania Twain, and in May Ironweed Bluegrass will be here on the 17th. The annual community play will again be held in June, dates to be advised but you won't want to miss it! Watch for additional performances during the year as well which will include concerts by the Community Band under the direction of Phil Lewis. For season tickets call Gail Hughes now. The Fund Raising Committee of the Friends of the Finke Theatre introduced a new concept this year. The tier donation is used in many theaters to raise funds and for the first time it is being offered at the Finke. Response to this has been remarkable and a thanks to all who have donated so far. In addition, the Committee is again offering "Early Bird Special" sales for the drawing to be held during the Ozark Ham and Turkey Festival. Contact any board member for pre-festival tickets. Tickets will be available at the event but will be at original pricing.

As with all donations to the Finke, the proceeds will be used to keep theater and the arts alive in the community. Plan now to come and be part of The Historic Finke Theatre!
