Library will offer free eReader training to patrons

The Moniteau County Library @ Wood Place will be conducting free eReader Training sessions this summer for people needing help with the ebook and digital audiobook service now available at the library.

For your convenience, classes are scheduled both during the day and evening.

Classes will be offered on the following dates:

Monday, June 24, at 6:30 p.m; Friday, June 26, at 2 p.m

Monday, July 8, at 6:30 p.m.; and Tuesday, July 9, at 2 p.m

If you are interested in attending one of these free classes on how to check out eBooks from Overdrive to your eReader, please call the library at 573-796-2642 or visit the library to register.   Class time will be divided between Kindles and Nook eReaders and various audio devices. The eBook service is free to all library patrons that have a current library card.  Patrons may access eBooks or digital Audiobooks by going to the library's website at www.woodplacelibrary.org and clicking on the link to Missouri Libraries 2 Go.

Patrons planning to attend this workshop are encouraged to bring their mobile devices or laptops so that staff members can assist with downloading the required software.  This is a great way to learn how to download Overdrive eBooks this summer!

The library received an eReader Exploration Grant that was funded by the Library Services and Technology Act, the major federal grant program for libraries, as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.  This grant provided eReaders for the library staff to become proficient using the eReader devices, to better assist patrons wanting to use eBooks and digital audiobooks.
