RUSSELLVILLE - Girl Scouts in Troop 70222 in Russellville learn how to build character and to be successful in the real world.

The Troop consists of Junior, grades 4-5, and Cadette, grades 6-8, and meets monthly at the Cole County R-1 Middle School cafeteria.

Each meeting opens with the Pledge of Allegiance, the Girl Scout Promise and the Girl Scout Law. And they make time for physical fitness.

Some of the skills the Russellville troop has achieved include: arts and crafts, fitness and healthy eating, Girl Scout fall candy program, singing and performance in the Jefferson City Downtown Living Windows program, no bully time, and the Russellville Christmas parade.

Currently, Troop 70222 is in the midst of Girl Scout Cookie sales. They hope to earn $2,000.

In the upcoming year, the Russellville troop plans to work on first aid, community support, camping and several other fun outings.

The focus remains to provide girls with a positive and fun learning experience.

The goal is to make sure girls of today turn into confident, successful and productive women of tomorrow.

Girls in grades 4-8 are eligible to join.
