Young people from the Jamestown Community Youth Group were joined by a number of adults in reroofing the home of Tyler Therrien in the Sandy Hook / Marion area. Therrien, who recently relocated from Ashland, is a former U.S. Marine and is disabled.

The work crew included about 20 young people and 10 adults from St. Paul's Evangelical Church, Jamestown, pastored by The Rev. Brian Bish, and New Hope Baptist Church, Centertown, pastored by The Rev. Josh Crider. Crider's daughter Erica was one of the youth workers.

Many of the youth who assisted in the project are among those who gather for a Bible study in the basement of St. Paul's in Jamestown. Bish also pastors Moniteau Advent Evangelical Church.

The young people took on the construction task to help out a resident in the community and prepare for a mission trip this summer. Since they lacked construction experience, this work was a learning project assisted by adults with some background and experience in construction.

Jamestown School was not in session Friday allowing the students a free week-day, plus Saturday, to work on the house on Highway 179.
