The California High School softball teams traveled to Jamestown Monday night, where the varsity lost 8-3 to the Lady Eagles.
After two innings, Jamestown led 5-3. The Lady Eagles turned up the heat in the third inning with a two-run homer by Stephanie Birkmann to lead 7-3.
Jamestown added on more run to secure the win, 8-3.
Birkmann recorded the win for the Lady Eagles.
California's JV lost 6-4 to Jamestown in three innings.
The Lady Pintos will host Hallsville at 5 p.m. Thursday.
California's varsity participated in the South Callaway Tournament Saturday, however, results were not available at press time.
Previously, the Lady Pintos traveled to Wardsville Tuesday, Sept. 24, where the varsity suffered a 16-2 loss to Blair Oaks in 4 1/2 innings.
The Lady Falcons got off to an early 3-0 lead after the first inning, then added nine runs in the second to lead 12-0.
The Lady Pintos scored two runs in the third inning, however, Blair Oaks answered with three runs to improve to a 15-2 lead.
The Lady Falcons scored another run in the fourth to secure the win, 16-2.
Amanda Karbinas led California hits with two.
California's JV also lost to Blair Oaks, 15-0.
California will host Hallsville at 5 p.m. Thursday at the California Sports Complex.
