Lady Pintos place second at California Invitational

The Lady Pintos hosted nine teams at the California Invitational Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the California Country Club, where California finished in second place with a team score of 378.

Sacred Heart placed first with 355.

Other participating teams were Osage, Centralia, Eugene, Green Ridge, Hallsville, Harrisburg, Marshall and New Bloomfield,

Osage's Taylor Hayes was the overall medalist with a 73.

California was led by Haley Goans, who placed fifth individually with a 91. Sophie Brant finished eighth with a 94, and Rylee Glenn placed 10th with a 95.

"Four of our girls shot in the 90's, which is awesome," California Coach Ashley Atteberry said. "I'm very proud, especially since we had just played an 18-hole invitational the day before and I know the girls were tired, but they pulled through and scored well."

The Lady Pintos participated in a triangular Thursday at Oak Hills Golf Center, Jefferson City, where California finished in second place with 182. Helias won the match with 172, while Eugene finished third with 225.

The overall medalist was Jenna Kosmatka, Helias, with a 39.

California was led by Goans, who shot a 45. Brant, Glenn and Renee Roberts each shot a 48.

The Lady Pintos participated in the Capital City Invitational Monday at the Jefferson City Country Club, where California finished ninth out of 14 teams with 406.

St. Joseph's Academy won the title with 346, followed by Warrensburg with 356, Rock Bridge with 359, Helias 369, and Jefferson City with 372.

California was led by Goans with 100. Roberts shot 101, Brant 102, and Glenn 103.
