The Lady Pinto softball teams hosted Osage for California's Senior Night Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the California Sports Complex, where seniors Tiffany Carel, Jessica Hughes, Amanda Karbinas and Madi Simmons were recognized along with their parents following the varsity game.

Osage won the varsity game 9-2.

The Lady Indians got off to a 2-0 lead after the first inning, then added one run in the second inning and two in the third to lead 5-0.

The Lady Pintos answered with a two-run third inning that included a single by Karbinas and a triple and RBI by Kaylee VanLoo, who ultimately stole home, and California trailed 5-2.

The Lady Indians added four runs in the fifth inning to lead 9-2.

While California held Osage scoreless in the sixth and seventh innings, including a double-play by Simmons and line drives caught by Carel and Simmons, the Lady Pintos were unable to produce the hits they needed to turn the game around.

Taylor Good recorded the win for Osage.

VanLoo led California hits with a triple, a single and one RBI. Madelyn Jobe followed with two singles. Karbinas, Carel and Erica Volkart each recorded a single.

The Lady Pintos played at New Bloomfield Monday night, however, results were not available at press time.

California will play #3 seeded Southern Boone at 6:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) in the first round of the Class 3 District 10 Tournament at Southern Boone High School, Ashland. The Lady Pintos are the #6 seed. The championship game is scheduled for 12 p.m. Saturday.
