Four members of the California High School varsity girls golf team competed at Class 1 District 2 Sectionals Monday, Oct. 14, at Crescent Farms Golf Course, St. Louis, where sophomore Sophie Brant led California with a 27th place finish (tie) with 103.
Junior Haley Goans shot a 107 to finish 37th (tie). Junior Becca Hamilton shot 122 to finish 44th. Junior Rylee Glenn fell ill during the match and was unable to finish competition.
The overall medalist was Jessica Dreesbeimdieke, Westminister Christian Academy, who shot a 73. The top 12 individuals (not on a qualifying team) at sectionals advance to the state golf championships.
John Burroughs won the team competition with 346.
The Class 1 State Golf Championships will be held Oct. 21-22 at Sedalia Country Club.
