RUSSELLVILLE - Early summer of 2009 work began to remove the old broken triangular-shaped flag pole memorial that held plaques the city had been given over the years.
The plaques were preserved and will be displayed in a commemorative wall at Railroad Park near the new flagpole.
Brick pavers line the area around the flagpole and may be purchased for $25 each, which includes engraving of three lines of text with 13 characters on each.
The area was designed to honor and pay tribute to veterans from Russellville who have served our Country.
With Veterans Day approaching, officials said brick space is still available in the area around the city flagpole in the middle of the business district downtown.
