The California High School varsity girls golf team participated in the Marshall Invitational Monday, where the Lady Pintos captured a win with a team score of 384. Smith-Cotton finished in second place with 394.
The medalist was California's Rylee Glenn, who shot an 89. Haley Goans finished third with a 94, while Sophie Brant tied for fourth place with a 95. Renee Roberts placed seventh with 106.
"I'm very proud of how well the girls played individually, but also as a team," California Coach Ashley Atteberry said. "We had a great team score and we hope to continue to score like that for the rest of our tournaments."
California will participate in a match against Helias Thursday at Jefferson City.
