I've had the privilege to work on the committee in support of CSI: California. I would ask for your "Yes" vote on April 8th. If approved this extends the current bond, so taxes do not increase.
There are several major projects including a large expansion to the Agriculture shop. FFA has gone from approximately 40 students to over 190 today. That's nearly half the high school.
School security will be upgraded to include buzzer systems at each of the main entries of the three school buildings as well as card reader access to the buildings and improved internal intercom systems. While none of us wants to think about this, we cannot ignore the risk.
Another major part is moving the football field. Several years ago we relocated the track and made preparations for a field. A district our size must tackle large projects in stages. This would complete this project with much needed upgrades to bleachers, lights, restrooms, and visitor locker room. Riley Field will not go away, it'll just move across town.
There are several other needed, but less visible improvements including heating and AC, new boiler at Middle School, paving the Performing Arts Center parking lot, several restroom remodels, including the 1964 locker rooms at the Middle School.
As previously mentioned our district must tackle improvements in stages. When the current high school was built in 1993 we lost our auditorium. In time, the new Performing Arts Center (PAC) was built. And what a facility it is! We now have the chance to continue this legacy of additions, upgrades and improvements. Again, I ask for your "Yes" vote on Proposition CSI California (Citizens for School Improvement). Thanks for your time.
