California hosts track meet April 15

The California High School Open Track Meet was held April 15, where a number of Pintos and Lady Pintos were top finishers.

"We use this meet as a practice where kids run different events," California Coach Rick Edwards said. "Our 400 group ran 4X800's and we had kids picking up extra events they normally don't compete in. It's nice to have an open because it gets all 50 kids involved."

Individual results for the California boys are as follows. In the 100 Meter, Walker Borghardt placed first with 11.7, and AJ Kendrick second, 11.8; 110 Meter Hurdles, Dylan Norton, first, 17.7, and Logan Cox fourth, 19.3; 200 Meter, Borghardt first, 24.0, Kendrick second, 24.9, Rudy Wirts fifth, 25.1, and Hayden Collier sixth, 25.8; 300 Meter Hurdles, Gunner Baquet second, 48.3; 400 Meter, Dylan Albertson first, 55.3, Conner George second, 55.7, Phillip Strobel fifth, 57.5, and Chris Menchaca seventh, 58.9; 800 Meter, Benigno Corona first, 2:17, and Ethan Hodges second, 2:19; 1600 Meter, Mason Albertson fifth; and 3200 Meter, Adam Burkett first, 10:56, and Collier sixth, 13:14.

In the 4x100 Meter Relay, the team of Seth Fairchild, Sam Cummings, Wirts and Strobel placed first with 48.7. In the 4x400 Meter Relay, the team of Dylan Norton, Dylan Albertson, Corona and George placed first with 3:44; the B team of Allan Burger, Collier, Hodges and Cox placed second with 4:01; and the C team of Baquet, Strobel, Cummings and Zane Safley placed fifth with 4:10. In the 4x800 Meter Relay, the team of Corona, Dylan Albertson, Hodges and George placed first with 9:33; and the team of Burkett, Micaiah Garcia, Mason Albertson and Collier placed third with 10:08.

In the High Jump, Norton placed second, Cummings third, and Safley fifth; Long Jump, Borghardt first, Kendrick second, and Baquet third; Triple Jump, Borghardt first, Kendrick second, and Baquet fourth.

In the Shot Put, Ramiro Garcia placed first, Alexx Lewis second, and Hunter RuBert fourth; Discus Throw, Lewis first, Garcia second, and RuBert third; and Pole Vault, Luke Burger first, Allan Burger second, and Cox third.

Individual results for the California girls are as follows. In the 100 Meter, Ellie Wirts placed first with 13.9; 100 Meter Hurdles, Rosie Swillum second, 18.9; 200 Meter, Wirts second, 28.4; 300 Meter Hurdles, Jasmine Wells first, 52.4, Kayla Allison second, 53.9, and Swillum fifth, 58.2;

400 Meter, Libby Martin first, 68.9; 800 Meter, Katie Imhoff first, 2:43, and Laney Porter third, 2:53; 3200 Meter, Imhoff second, 13:05, and Porter fourth, 13:59.

In the 4x100 Meter Relay, the team of Emily Thibon, Mattea Adams, Haley Admire and Swillum placed fourth with 59.9. In the 4x200 Meter Relay, the team of Thibon, Adams, Swillum and Jackie Gammon placed second with 2:07. In the 4x400 Meter Relay, the team of Wells, Porter, Imhoff and Kayla Allison placed first with 4:55.

In the High Jump, Adams and Cameron Meyer tied for a fourth place finish; Long Jump, Wirts second; Triple Jump, Wells first, and Wirts second;

Shot Put, Audrey Pickering first, Meyer fifth, and Beth Davis sixth; Discus Throw, Pickering first, Meyer second, and Davis third; and Pole Vault, Allison first.

The CHS track team will compete at the Centralia Open Meet at 4 p.m. Thursday.
