Kramel leads Pintos at Southern Boone Classic

California freshman Dylan Kramel finished in the top 15 out of 85 participants to medal at the Southern Boone Classic April 16 at Eagle Knoll Golf Club, Ashland, leading the Pintos to a seventh place team finish out of 18 teams.

Kramel placed 12th with 90 individually. Southern Boone's Walker Kesterson was the top finisher with 72.

The Pintos finished with 404 as a team to place seventh. Blair Oaks won with 346.

California's Kade McAdams finished 28th individually with 98, while Tyler Elliott placed 44th with 107, while Connor George shot a 109 to finish 48th. John Wolken placed 61st with 117.

"Dylan Kramel had a really good day and I'm very proud of him," California Coach Doug Miller said. "It was a rough day for the rest of our boys. Eagle Knoll is a tougher course than we're used to, and with the wind, it just wasn't a good day for the Pintos."

The Pintos will compete at the Tri-County Conference Tournament today (Wednesday) at Oak Hills Golf Center, Jefferson City.
