California Care Center on Highway 87 south, California, is in the process of being remodeled. Although the obvious changes are exterior, including a canopy extension over the entry drive for protection from the weather, some roof line work and a new storage building, quite a bit of work has been done inside.

The inside improvements, for both appearance and function, include new carpeting, paint, wheelchair bumpers along the hallways, shutters to replace the curtains in all of the patient room for better appearance as well as privacy, updated shower rooms with new tile. The old double entry doors have been removed providing additional interior space. The nurse's station is also due to be remodeled.

To improve the looks of the entrance, the front doors are to be replaced. The sitting room and therapy areas also have been given new carpeting and cabinets. Administrator Jason Drake commented that the owners, Health Systems, Inc., Osage Beach, selects two care centers to remodel every year. This year is is the turn of California Care Center.

When the work is completed, Drake said an open house will be held.
