Thursday, Jan. 30, was the night of the California fourth grade musical. Under the direction of Stacy Friedrich, the elementary students performed "Pirates!" in the CHS auditorium.

The pieces performed by the youth were "Pirates All We Are," "Stowaway!," "King of the High C's" with solo by Drew Graff, "You Wanna be a Pirate" and "Lost at Sea," both with solos by Rylee Hees, "Singin' a Pirate Song" and a reprise of "Pirates All We Are."

In a large variety of pirate costumes designed by the fourth grade parents, the musical rendition of pirates on a ship at sea.

Alex, Anthony and Aaron Turley died in April after their mother's car ran into Brewer Lake, 13 miles off Arkansas 92.

One young want-to-be pirate, portrayed by Rylee Hees, tried to get on the crew, but was turned down. After the ship was at sea, they discovered her as a stowaway. Bluebeard - Addilyn Williams, Blackbeard - Jaden Trachsel, Yellowbeard - Dalton Ratliff, Whitebeard - Matthew Abernathy, Purplebeard - Mikayla Diehls, Redbeard - Calen Kruger, Greenbeard - Tyler Patterson, Brownbeard - Timothy Tyner, Orangebeard - Eli Trimble, Rainbowbeard - Sareena Roll, Pinkbeard - Ricky Runk and Zebrabeard - Preston Miller decided they couldn't make the decision, so they called the "King of the High C's" - Drew Graff, to make the decision.

Making his entrance by singing a "High C," The King of High C's led the singing and dancing in a style somewhat similar to another person known as The King (Elvis). A pirate band along with a dancing pirate conga line to add to the entertainment for the family and friends who filled the seats for the production.
