The Cole County R-1 Middle School Junior Beta sent 13 students and two sponsors to compete in the Missouri Junior Beta Convention recently in Poplar Bluff.
For the first time, the Russellville chapter qualified for the quiz bowl and placed fifth.
Rayni Hartman placed first in the wreath competition and third in math.
Makayla Stubinger placed first in recyclable art.
Both students are eligible to compete at the national convention this summer in Richmond, Va.
