Lincoln Day Dinner held Saturday

Bryan Wolford presents Judy Wittenberger with the plaque for Republican of the Year at the Annual Lincoln Day Dinner.

About 70 were in attendance at the Moniteau County 2014 Lincoln Day dinner, sponsored by the Moniteau County Republican Club, on Saturday, Feb. 8. The event was held at the California Nutrition Center in California.

The program included a social time after which President Bryan Wolford welcomed those in attendance and recognized the 2013 officers and thanked them for serving.

Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Meleigha Caudel sang the national anthem. The Invocation was given by Presiding County Commissioner Kenny Kunze.

Sen. Mike Kehoe served as keynote speaker for the event. Catherine Hannaway, former Missouri Speaker of the House, spoke and announced her candidacy for Missouri Governor in 2016.

State Rep. Caleb Jones spoke briefly as did Steve Walsh, who was present as a representative of the office of Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler.

State and county officials, special guests and state employees were introduced. Military veterans were also recognized.

The George H.W. and Barbara Bush traveling slippers went home with Abe Rohrbach.

Judy Wittenberger was named 2013 Republican of the Year and was presented with a plaque.

Don Fahrni conducted the Live Auction.

The 2014-2015 Club officers - President Larry Rohrbach, Vice president Sarah Jones, Secretary Michelle Higgins and Treasurer Bryan Wolford - were presented.

The next meeting of the Republican Club will be 7 p.m. Thursday, March 20.
