The Lady Pintos were led by Sydney Deeken with 23 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks. Mara Caudel followed with 14 points, while Kamryn Koetting scored eight and Ashtyn Goans added seven.

Meleigha Caudel led the Lady Pintos with 27 points. Koetting scored 10, and Mara Caudel added six.

"This is an exciting time for us," California Coach Bobby Sangster said. "This time of the season is what the girls have worked so hard for. They have practiced over 100 hours up to this point. They understand what we're trying to do and they want to compete and be successful."

California's JV also defeated Warsaw, 67-13.

The JV Lady Pintos hosted Pilot Grove Saturday, where they suffered a 46-31 loss to the Lady Tigers.

Pilot Grove led 13-4 after the first quarter, 28-13 at the half, and 42-21 after three quarters.

California will host Blair Oaks Thursday for Senior Night, which will be the last games of the regular season for the Lady Pintos, as well as the final conference game. The freshman game will begin at 5 p.m.

"I feel good about us competing for conference," Sangster said. "At this point, we have a chance to bring home a banner. After that, hopefully districts will take care of itself. We're just going to keep on like we have been for seven years now. Things have been clicking for us recently. The girls are confident. When you give a hungry team a chance, they can be dangerous. We could shock some people."

California (16-7 and 5-1) will play Eugene at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, in the first round of the Class 3 District 8 Tournament at Blair Oaks High School, Wardsville. The Lady Pintos are the #2 seed, while Eugene is seeded seventh. The championship game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28.
