Krazy Kats perform at the Finke

The Krazy Kats kicked off their final year of touring with a performance at the Finke Theatre Saturday night. The final performance of the group will be at the Holiday Inn EXPO Center in Columbia Oct. 18.

After 56 years William "Willie" Craig, Lee Dresser and Fred Fletcher are retiring. This three piece band which was established in 1957 has played in over 4000 performances. Their career has included appearances with Bill Cosby, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, The Platters, and many others. Those at the Finke Saturday night were a part of history knowing that within a few months the unique style of their classic 50's and 60's music will be gone. The way they sounded on stage you would think they could go on forever. The event was sponsored by People's Bank and Richard and Shirley Elliott.

The next performance at the Finke will be Feb. 8, when the Harmonium Brass comes to town. They started playing together in 2009 and have quickly earned the reputation as one of Missouri's top performing ensembles. Come and enjoy their musical selections from Bach to Beatles.

Their performance is sponsored by Jay and Eileen Gattermeir, Ron and Vanda Harlan and the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency providing financial assistance for the project.
