The beautiful sunny day on Sunday, June 7, was just about perfect for the annual Annunciation Catholic Church Picnic. The great weather, as well as fun, games and, of course, food, brought young, old, residents, non-residents, church members and non-members together for the big fundraiser held on church property and a portion of Mill Street near the church in California.

The food, chicken and pulled pork either for inside dining or carry-out, was augmented by a variety of fast food items, including hamburgers and sandwiches, at several food stands.

Entertainment on the church grounds included muffin pan volleyball, basketball throw, fishing, duck pond and face painting. In addition, the bingo activity took up the upper church parking lot and the cakewalk was on Mill Street. A Country Store featured a number of items including handmade quilts.
