Cub Scouts enjoyed a busy spring with two separate activities. In April, service to the community was combined with a successful trip to possibly the best fishing lake in Moniteau County! Cubs began the day by picking up litter at Proctor Park and then traveled to the private stocked lake of Mike Lutz for several hours of fishing. Lutz was kind enough to let scouts fish in his lake and also spent time explaining fishing techniques and lore to the scouts.

Families and siblings were also invited and everyone caught at least one fish if not an entire mess of them. Cub Scout Pack 120 expresses an extra big THANK YOU to the Lutz family for their assistance in making this a fun event for all of the boys.

In May, the weather provided a stunning backdrop for the Cub Scout Family Picnic. Pack 120 supplied hamburgers and hotdogs, grilled to perfection by Will and Ernie Fast, and an array of delicious foods were provided by parents. Scouts enjoyed the playground equipment as well as several activities provided such as wiffle ball, bocce ball, kickball, ladder toss and drawing with chalk.

After lunch, achievement awards were presented to Jalen Graff, Gabriel Mills, Jace Schreck, Salvatore Vasquez, Bryce Walker, Skip Figgins, Walker Friedmeyer, Kade Garrison, Henry Hirschvogel, Dillon Wood, Peter Dampf, Diego Vasquez, Matthew Abernathy and Drew Graff. Special recognition plaques were presented to Webelos 2 Den Leaders, Barbara Riggs and Rose Blair in appreciation for their many years of service to the young men of Pack 120.

Upcoming events include Cub Scout Summer Camp in July followed by the "Welcome to Scouting" Swim Party in August which kicks off a new Scouting year. Registration is available for boys who are in first grade through fifth grade. For more information call Brad Friedmeyer at 573-338-2491 or 796-0242.
