United Way of Central Missouri accepting applications for membership

Thanks to generous community support and strong campaigns for the past several years, the United Way of Central Missouri Board of Directors approved the potential to add an additional partner agency. To be considered for membership an organization must be formally recognized and qualified as a non-profit, incorporated organization under the law, and provide proof of financial and fiscal responsibility through an independent audit. The organization must have clear purposes and functions which designate it as a voluntary, health, social welfare or character-building organization which conducts programs and provides services in one or more of these fields.

The agency's work must further the mission of the United Way of Central Missouri and provide services in one or more of the United Way coverage area of Cole, Miller, Moniteau, Osage, and Southern Callaway Counties. Organizations offering duplicated services currently provided by United Way of Central Missouri partner agencies may not be considered for membership unless evidence exists that duplication is necessary in the community.

Organizations interested in applying for membership consideration should contact Ann Bax at 573-636-4100 to request a copy of the Agency Agreement and Membership Policies. New membership applications will be accepted through March 26.

A committee comprised of United Way board members and community volunteers will review new membership applications and present recommendations to the United Way of Central Missouri Board of Directors for final consideration.
