California Parks and Recreation Supervisor Julia Moses was at the City Hall Monday, March 3, for her first day on the job.

Originally from Parma, Ohio, the new parks and rec supervisor earned a bachelor's degree from Ohio's Marietta College and a master's degree from Elmira College in upstate New York.

Moses has a broad range of schooling and work experience, including coaching and teaching as well as strong involvement in recreational activities. All of these provide a valuable background for parks and rec supervisor.

"Baseball is my favorite sport to watch," Moses said, while mentioning playing softball in college for two years. Her sports background includes basketball, volleyball and Lacrosse.

Until recently, she was a resident of LaGrange, Ga. (near Altanta) and relocated to Mid-Missouri for family reasons.

Moses was the person selected from four candidates interviewed on Feb. 15. There were 26 applicants for the position which was advertised in January.
