Members of the varsity, JV and freshman Lady Pinto basketball teams, coaches, family and friends gathered at the California High School commons Thursday evening for the annual California Lady Pintos Basketball Awards Banquet to reflect on the 2013-14 season.

Following the carry-in dinner, head coach Bobby Sangster and assistant coach Robb Hartman thanked many who contributed to the season and recognized each of the athletes for their individual achievements.

Hartman spoke about the freshman and JV seasons and players, and Sangster presented letters and spoke about the varsity team's season and players.

"This team fought through so much adversity," Sangster said of the varsity team. "Every player who was placed in a new role gave their all. That's what made our season."

Sangster also commended the seniors. "Our younger players have learned so much from the seniors. Their shoes will be hard to fill."

Special awards presented at the banquet included the following: sophomore Ashtyn Goans received the Most Improved Performer Award; junior Kamryn Koetting, Inspiration Award; senior Caitlin Meyer, Most Outstanding Defensive Performer; and senior Meleigha Caudel, Most Outstanding Offensive Performer.

Sangster closed by thanking the players for their hard work and dedication, and the parents for all they gave to the Lady Pinto basketball program.
