Moniteau County Soil and Water Conservation District will hold their 38th Annual Appreciation and Award Banquet on April 8. The banquet will be held at United Church of Christ at 6 p.m. Among the events for the evening the SWCD will be honoring the 2013 Cooperator of the Year with Kenney and Barb Hentges and Mark and Melissa Hentges, all of Tipton, as the recipients. Carla Knipp of St Andrew's School will be awarded the 2013 Teacher of the Year Award. Also being recognized will be David and Joyce Shaul, Jamestown, who were selected 2013 State Cooperator at Tan-Tar-A last December. Poster Contest winners will be announced and awarded their prize with the Overall Poster winner of the fifith and sixth grade being announced. Area high school FFA students have been invited to give a speech which they will be giving at State competition. Moniteau County has a lot to be proud of and this is just a way for the SWCD to recognize all the hard work done by our Landowners and schools.
A dinner will be served by the Gumpsters of pulled pork and all the fixings. If you are a Landowner with a FSA farm number and would like to attend, please contact Nancy Kirby at 573-796-2010 ext. 3 or at email@example.com by March 31.
