Three Indians advance to Class 1 Sectionals

The Russellville Indians participated in the Class 1 District 2 Golf Tournament Monday at the Oaks Golf Club at Tan-Tar-A, Osage Beach, where Coy Bond, Devin Koestner and Cody Willingham each qualified individually to advance to Class 1 Sectionals Monday, May 12, at the Golf Club at Deer Chase, Linn Creek. Russellville finished team competition in fourth place with 437. Bond and Koestner also earned All-District honors with their top 15 finishes.

The Russellville Indians participated in the Class 1 District 2 Golf Tournament Monday at the Oaks Golf Club at Tan-Tar-A, Osage Beach, where they finished fourth out of seven teams with 437.

Russellville's Coy Bond, Devin Koestner and Cody Willingham each qualified to advance to Class 1 Sectionals Monday, May 12, at the Golf Club at Deer Chase, Linn Creek.

The top two teams and next 15 individuals at the district tourney advance to sectionals.

Thayer placed first in team competition with 384, while Gainesville finished second with 393. Cabool placed third with 419, Linn fifth with 448, Crocker sixth with 496, and Seymour seventh with 641.

The medalist was Gainesville's Thomas Ritter who shot a 79.

Bond led Russellville with 96 to tie for fifth place individually. Koestner shot 105 to tie for 15th, and Willingham posted 110 to place 19th. Bond and Koestner also earned All-District honors with their top 15 finishes.

Other results for Russellville included Austin Garrison, who placed 25th with 126, and Levi Anderson, who placed 31st with 138.

Previously, Russellville participated in the Show-Me Conference Tournament April 30 at Redfield Country Club, Eugene, where the Indians finished fifth out of six teams with a team score of 409.

Koestner led Russellville with a 92 to finish eighth individually and earn All-Conference honors. Bond followed with 97, Anderson 98, Garrison 122, and Willingham 124.
