'Tribute to Jessie' Sunday at Double-X Speedway

It was another night of Sunday Night Thunder May 18 at the Double-X Speedway, California, which resulted in wins for Jacob Johnson in the Winged Sprint division, Dale Berry in the Street Stocks, Gage Wineland in the Hobby Stocks, and Quinton Benson in the 600cc Winged Micro Sprints.

Next at the Speedway is 'Tribute to Jessie' Sunday, May 25. The racing agenda will include the A.S.C.S. Warrior Region Sprints, Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks, and M.A.L.S. (Mid-America Lightning Sprints).

Results from Sunday, May 18, at the Double-X included Johnson, Rocky Mount, winning the main event in the 360 Winged Sprint division. Rounding out the top five were Jonathan Cornell, Sedalia; Kyle Bellm, Nixa; Cody Baker, Lone Jack; and Taylor Walton, Warrensburg. Heat winners were Bellm, Sedalia's T.J. Muths, and Baker.

In the Street Stock division, the feature winner was Berry, Tuscumbia. Harlan Dowell, Tipton, followed in second place; California's John Clancy Jr., third; John Wyman, Fulton, fourth; and Eldon's Steve Beach, fifth place. Heat winners were Berry and Tebbetts' Ted Welschmeyer.

Wineland claimed the Hobby Stock feature win, followed by Sedalia's Will Register in second place. Kevin Prall, Sedalia, claimed third place; Mike Schrader, Sedalia, fourth; and Windsor's Chuck Coffey, fifth. Heat races were won by Tipton's Joe Reed and Wineland.

Benson, Sweet Springs, won the feature event in the 600cc Winged Micro Sprints division. Rounding out the top five were Ayrton Gennetten, Versailles; Kyle Spry, Columbia; Dean Hathman, Columbia; and Brian Lunsford, Marshall. Heat winners were Gennetten and Benson.

Gates will open at 5 p.m., Sunday night at the Double-X, with hot laps to begin at 7 p.m. Racing will get underway at 7:30 p.m.
