California Middle School students returned from a whirlwind Washington, D.C., tour taken June 20 - 23 arranged by Counselor Marcia Bibb.

Over 20 memorials, museums, galleries and monuments were visited including the Iwo Jima Memorial.

Students on the tour were incoming freshmen Dakota Henry, Nick Althoff, Colton Foss and Alex Meisenheimer, and incoming eighth graders Dawson Shackleford and Tucker Friedmeyer. Chaperones were Rae Ann Reagan and Jill Meisenheimer.

Leo Lutz who works in the Capitol Building met the students and not only gave them a tour but also enabled the students to visit the House Floor, the Speaker of the House balcony, and took them on the trolley cars through the tunnel under the Senate Building.

The students were also very privileged to be aboard an Honor Flight of St. Louis veterans on their return flight home.
