Jacob Small named First Chair Euphonium at All-National Honor Band

Jacob Small, Senior Euphonium player at California High School, recently participated in the 2015 All-National Honor Band, and was named first chair for the ensemble, the "best of the best". Small was one of five participants from Missouri in the ensemble, and the only member from Central Missouri.

The 2015 All-National Honor Band Clinic took place at the annual National Association for Music Educators' National Convention held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn., Oct. 25. At the end of the conference and clinic, the Honor Band performed a concert on the stage of the Historic Grand Ole Opry House.

Small is a member of the Pinto Pride Band at California High School, under the direction of Dustijn Hollon, who accompanied him to Nashville.

Small is the son of Christopher and Kelli Small, California. They accompanied him to Nashville.

After graduating, Small plans to pursue a degree in music education.
