EUGENE, Mo. — In winning the Class 1 District 2 golf tournament at Redfield Golf and Country Club, the Tipton boys team turned in quite the performance on Monday morning.

But even though the Cardinals won the meet by 24 strokes, the team score was outshined by the individual outing of Tristan Bolin, who carded a 73 to win the event by seven strokes.

Bolin’s one-over mark led Tipton, and Brock Bookout, Jon Petree and Daniel Buschjost all recorded top-20 scores to help the Cardinals roll over the nine-team field.

Also representing the area at the meet was Russellville. While the Indians only had two competing golfers and couldn’t net a team score as a result, Austin Garrison will be headed to next week’s sectional tournament after carding a 99 to finish 13th. Russellville’s David Shedon shot a 107 to take 23rd and was two strokes away from qualifying for sectionals.

Joining Tipton as the other school to send its full team to sectionals was Iberia. The Rangers were powered by two top-seven individual finishers to take second with a team score of 395.
