An airplane had to make an emergency landing without landing gear early Monday at the Eldon Airport.

Eldon firefighters responded to a report of an aircraft landing without its landing gear at around 5:15 a.m. Monday at the Eldon Airport.

The pilot was not injured as the single-engine aircraft landed on its belly, according to the Eldon Firefighters Association.

The Federal Aviation Administration was contacted and gave clearance to move the aircraft.

Firefighters were able to lift the aircraft with high pressure bags to a height that allowed the landing gear to deploy. The gear successfully locked in position, and the aircraft was moved to a secure location on airport property.
