DWI checkpoint nets 16 violations in Moniteau County

The Missouri Highway Patrol announced results of a DWI sobriety checkpoint conducted in Moniteau County on April 14.

The enforcement location was selected based on the high number of drinking- and impairment-related crashes, in addition to other traffic violations that contribute to unsafe driving behavior.

The DWI checkpoint was conducted at the intersection of Missouri 87 and Route C. During the operation, officers stopped 105 vehicles.

The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation:

  • Three DWI arrests
  • One arrest for minor in possession of intoxicants
  • One seat belt violation
  • Three driver license violations
  • Two uninsured motorist violations
  • Two misdemeanor warrant arrests
  • Two misdemeanor drug arrests
  • Two felony warrant arrests
  • Six warnings.
