Gary Wingate, of North Carolina, was presented a Quilt of Valor on Easter Sunday while visiting with relatives in California.
Wingate served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
His quilt was pieced by Donna Sterling and quilted by the First Baptist Church quilters. The local Quilts of Valor program is organized by the Bookworm Sewing and Quilting Group that meets to sew at the library every Tuesday.
