Miller County ballot features seven uncontested races

Miller County voters will vote on seven uncontested local offices in the Nov. 8 general election, as all races were essentially decided in the August primary.

First District Commissioner Darrell Bunch is running unopposed in the Nov. 8 election; he will serve his third term. Bunch, who retired after 33 years as a construction foreman at Lake of the Ozarks State Park and with Missouri Department of Natural Resources, beat three fellow Republican opponents in the Aug. 2 primary.

Incumbent 2nd District Commissioner Brian Duncan lost to fellow Republican and cattle operation owner Travis Lawson in the August primary. Lawson is unopposed in the Nov. 8 election.

Five Republicans ran for Miller County sheriff in the August primary, with current, long-standing Sheriff Bill Abbott not running again for his seat. Miller County Chief Deputy Louis "Louie" R. Gregoire secured the most votes; he is unopposed Nov. 8. Gregoire has served the Miller County community in law enforcement for 17 years; he is a member of the Lake Ozark Major Case Squad and serves on the Miller County R-3 Board of Education.

Incumbent Assessor Joseph M. Cochran will run unopposed; he also was unopposed in the primary.

Incumbent Public Administrator Theresa Irene Lupardus will also run unopposed after beating Republican Samantha Crane in the August primary.

Timothy Bradley will run unopposed for the coroner's position. He has been a paramedic for 20-plus years and is a volunteer firefighter and reserve police officer in Eldon.

Rick Wilson will run unopposed for county surveyor; he was also unopposed in the August primary.
