Mizzou freshman outside hitter Sydney Deeken, California, was named SEC Freshman of the Week, as announced on Monday, Sept. 29, by the league office. This is the first conference weekly honor for Deeken and the first SEC weekly honor for the Tigers this season. She is the first Tiger to take home SEC Freshman of the Week honors since current teammate Carly Kan earned the distinction on Oct. 14 of last season.
The California Lady Pintos had five players finish in the top nine individuals Monday on their way to capturing team honors in the Class 1 District 5 Golf Tournament.

The California High School softball teams hosted Prairie Home Thursday at the California Sports Complex, where the varsity suffered a 22-2 loss to the Lady Panthers in four innings.
The California High School volleyball teams traveled to Eugene Thursday night, where the varsity and both JV teams defeated the Lady Eagles.
The California Invitational was held Tuesday, Sept. 16, where a total of nine teams participated, and the Lady Pintos prevailed in first place with a team score of 366.
The California High School cross country teams competed at the Fulton Invitational Saturday, where Adam Burkett led the varsity Pintos as he medaled with 17:52 to finish 18th, and Katie Imhoff led the Lady Pintos with 22:04 to medal in 24th place.

The California Pintos traveled to Hallsville Friday night for game #5 of the 2014 season, where they dominated the field from the start, and ultimately defeated the Indians 68-14.
