COLUMBIA —At first, it wasn’t hard to see the frustration and sadness from the Jamestown players, coaches and fans after its 11-2 loss to New Franklin Monday in the sectional round, just two wins away from the state final four.
BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. — The Pinto boys’ track team continues to have a successful season, winning the Sectionals Track Meet Saturday in Blue Springs. California advanced to the Missouri High School Activities Association State Track Meet in 14 events for the boys and two events for the girls.
JEFFERSON CITY — Russellville’s Jordan Barnhart and Jamestown’s Mickayla Strother had strong showings at last weekend’s Class 1-2 Missouri High School Activities Association State Track Meet, placing in the top-four in their respective events.
ST. ELIZABETH — Jamestown’s goal of winning the district tournament is now complete, but Eagles’ coach Jordan Hoecker isn’t ready to celebrate his team’s successful season just yet.
The Pintos had a strong showing at the District Track Meet in Clinton, earning the District Champions honor. The boys advanced to Sectionals in 14 events, placing in the top-two in nine events.
Jordan Barnhart had a successful day as well, advancing in three events, including two first-place finishes.
The Russellville Indians’ baseball season came to an end Monday, dropping a 7-1 decision to New Bloomfield in the first-round of the Class 2, District 8 Tournament. The Indians finished the year with a 6-14 record.
ST. ELIZABETH — As the No. 1 seed, Jamestown went into the Class 1 District 9 Tournament an undoubted favorite to win it.

JAMESTOWN – With the No. 1 seed in the Class 1, District 9 Tournament established, the Eagles are working on staying mentally focused as they prepare for the single elimination tournament.
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — California’s Kade McAdams and Dylan Kramel advanced to Sectionals after placing in the top-15 - of the players not on the top-two teams - in last week’s Districts Tournament in Eugene, but failed to move on to the State Tournament Monday at Kirksville Country Club.
LINN - The Russellville Indians had a strong performance at the Class 2 District 3 Track Meet Saturday at Linn High School, placing second in boys and third in girls. Russellville qualified in 13 events on the boys’ side and eight on the girls.
CALIFORNIA — The Pintos boys’ track meet placed first in the Tri-County Conference Meet last Tuesday at California High School. The boys finished with 175 points, 57 points more than the second-place team, the School of the Osage.
CLEVELAND, Mo. — Jamestown and Prairie Home competed in the Class 1 District 6 Track Meet on Saturday at Midway High School, qualifying in multiple events for Saturday’s Sectional Track Meet.
CALIFORNIA — The diamond Pintos were on the wrong end of a one-hitter, losing to Blair Oaks 11-1 Monday in their last home game of the regular season. California allowed four runs in the fourth and sixth innings to fall behind quickly.
