JAMESTOWN, Mo. – It’s always tough for a pitcher in his first start of the season, but that didn’t stop Jamestown’s Christian DeVore, who pitched a no-hitter that propelled the Eagles over Otterville 12-0 in a five inning, run ruled game.

Hallsville uses big inning to run away from California

CALIFORNIA – A seven-run first inning ultimately proved to be too deep of a hole for the Pintos to climb out from, as they dropped their Tri-County Conference opener against Hallsville 13-3 in a run-ruled shorten game.

Eagles, Indians get first win of season

JAMESTOWN — Evan Knierim batted 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored to lead Jamestown over New Bloomfield 7-4. Alex Gerlach and Garrett Wolfe also had two runs scored, with Gerlach hitting 1-for-2 from the plate and Wolfe 2-for-4.

Golf: California performs well at Russellville Invitational

RUSSELLVILLE — At the Russellville Invitational, California placed second and host Russellville finished fifth at Redfield Golf Club, a par 72 course, last Wednesday in a field of eight area high schools.

Golf: Pintos beat Fatima in dual

CALIFORNIA -- Dylan Kramel earned medalist honors, as the Pintos defeated Fatima 165-190 at California Country Club on Monday. Kade McAdams carded a 39, Liam Schatzer shot a 43, Damon Shaw a 46 and Kale McAdams' 48 rounds out the Pintos varsity.

This week's track results

The Pintos participated in two track meets last week, hosting the Tri-County Open Meet and traveling to Linn High School for the Linn Invitational. California’s meet drew six teams, while the Pintos faced off against 18 teams in the Linn meet, placing first, and the Lady Pintos finished fifth against 17 other teams.

Duo leads Pintos past Cardinals

TIPTON – Led by Jaden Barr and Hunter Heimericks, the diamond Pintos defeated Tipton 5-4 Monday evening. Barr and Heimericks each batted 3-for-4 from the plate; Barr scored three times and Heimericks had two RBI and two stolen bases.

Baseball Pintos looking to improve

CALIFORNIA — Jason Gatlin must do what all other baseball coaches hate to do, replace seven starters from the year prior. It won’t be easy but Gatlin is optimistic. The Pintos look to improve from a 10-9 season and a first round exit in districts.
