California qualifies two for sectionals

EUGENE — Kade McAdams and Dylan Kramel will continue their golf season after finishing in the top-15 of the teams that didn’t qualify for sectionals. McAdams also earned All-District honors, which is awarded to the top-15 golfers overall, as he finished tied for 12th with an 85.

Pintos win in all-around fashion

CALIFORNIA – While it won’t show up on the stat sheet, the bottom of the order came through for the Pintos in their 9-3 win over Harrisburg Thursday. The entire lineup produced 13 hits, including five extra base hits.

Jamestown wins Russellville Round Robin

RUSSELLVILLE — Jamestown bounced back after struggling the week before by beating Calvary Lutheran 5-3 on Thursday and sweeping three games at the Russellville Round Robin over the weekend to claim the championship. The Eagles beat the Missouri Military Academy 5-3 Friday, then beat the School of the Osage 11-5 and Russellville 4-3 in extra innings on Saturday.

Russellville moving in the right direction

RUSSELLVILLE — While it wasn’t the end result the Indians wanted, it’s hard not to say Russellville has improved since its seven-game losing streak, which was snapped Friday with a 15-5 win against the School of the Osage in the Russellville Round Robin. The Indians went on to place second of four teams, losing in the championship to Jamestown in extra innings.

Basketball Camp slated for May 26-29

CALIFORNIA — The Pintos’ basketball team and head coach Blair Scanlon will host the California High School 2015 Boys Basketball Camp May 26-29. Age groups vary from boys entering fourth grade to 12th grade and it will be located at the California High School gym.

CALIFORNIA — The Pintos hosted the Guy Rush Memorial Track Meet Thursday, with the boys finishing first for the second time in three days and the Lady Pintos finishing second overall.

EUGENE — California finished fourth with a score a score of 372 in the Tri-County Conference Golf Tournament at Redfield Golf Club Wednesday, April 22. Blair Oaks won the event with a 323, Southern Boone placed second and Osage was third with scores of 343 and 361, respectively.

ELDON — The Mustangs outhit California 12-6 en route to a 4-1 win against the Pintos Tuesday, April 21. Eldon scored two runs in the first and two runs in the fifth and that proved to be enough.

KAISER — California took part in the School of the Osage Invitational held Tuesday, April 21, finishing with strong results on the girls and boys’ side.

Annual Walk/Run/Ride to take place Saturday, May 2

JAMESTOWN — The seventh annual Walk/Run/Ride benefiting the L.Cpl. Leon B. Deraps Memorial Scholarship Fund will be held Saturday May 2 at 9 a.m. in Jamestown. It will begin at Advanced Chimney at 365 W. Row St., at the corner of U.S. Highway 179 and U.S. Highway 87, and it ends at Assumption Catholic Church at Cedron off of U.S. Route D.

Jamestown drops two-of-three games last week

JAMESTOWN — The Eagles find themselves in a spot they haven’t been in this season, a losing-streak. After defeating Higbee 10-0 in five innings last Tuesday, Jamestown dropped a pair of games to Eugene and Pilot Grove.
